Therapy Marketing

If you are a therapist or practitioner the internet is a great place for you because people are searching for health related information all the time. The therapy marketing case study below focuses on two health and wellness business owners I worked with in 2010

The success of your business building an online presence hinges on the content that you create to share online. Is creating content difficult? Not when you run a business. Click the link below (opens in a new window) to read my article on

18 create content for your health and wellness business

There are plenty of ideas on there. All you need to know next is how to optimise it and what to do with it once it is complete.

Online Marketing for Therapists

There were two businesses I supported. A mobile health and beauty business called Zebulun

Zebulun provide mobile massage services to individuals and also massage services to employers (although I didn't focus on that area)

Using a blog and videos I set up their profile and got to work creating content although getting regular content was an issue and despite constant reminders not much came through. However, despite that the business still bought in orders from the web in their first month.

The blog

The videos (spent half a day focusing on the questions potential customers might ask)

http://www.youtube.com/user/ZebulunMobileHealth (this Youtube site was already up)

I also optimised her Google Places profile

I worked on this for a total of 3 months and despite not having the amount of content I wanted when you search for "home massage London" they appear in the search results.

April 2011 Update

I met up with Malakh on 28 April and she told me despite the fact that I have hardly touched her blog since 2010 she was still being found online and she received at least 2-3 calls a week. One that is in the pipeline could lead to regular work (watch this space I will update) - so it goes to show, even if you can only write blog posts for a few months this stuff still works

Every domain or online profile created is done so not based on your brand but based on what a potential customer might be thinking about/typing in when they search for your product and services. If they don't know you they won't be focused on your business name - they will be focusing on a solution or looking for a service.

The other business - a Luton based therapist - also had a blog set up and videos made

Youtube

We made a series of different videos that provide quite popular

Both the blogs and the videos helped him to get found online and again, content was not sent on a regular enough basis to really make a huge impact but he too received new business thanks to his videos and blogs.

You can see from this video how quickly your local business can rank in the search engines when you write optimised blog content.

Outcome :

While both of these therapists experienced new business as a result of the work I did for them they didn't produce enough content to be as successful as the personal trainer I worked with. However, it did work for both of them in the 3 months that I worked with them.

Ultimately to succeed at online marketing you have to be willing to generate content. Whether you add that content to your website or you start a business blog (recommended) - not having the time is no excuse.  If standing out from the crowd is your goal the only way to do that is to create content so people find you.

Even if it is only ONE article a MONTH or ONE video - at the end of a year that is 12 pieces of content.  Of course if you want fast results like I get here you need to produce content DAILY (5 days a week) or your first 3-6 months and THEN you can slow down.

However, what these two therapy marketing case studies show is that even without doing much you can still bring in business - imagine if you focused on doing this 100%!

These two case studies were both taken on probono to highlight how therapy marketing can be achieved online and what I find is that paying clients are far more proactive at getting information to me!!!

If marketing therapy is something you want done for you our online marketing services can help but the cost is usually not something a therapist can manage each month.

All is not lost though, you can still use our local search marketing toolkit - bring in enough income using that until you get so busy you can pay us to do it for you!
